Community Support
Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment staff assist adults with severe and persistent mental illness to achieve and maintain independence in the community by providing on-going assessment, advocacy, support, linkage, referrals and crisis intervention.
Community Support Staff collaborate with the team members, including primarily psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, vocational rehab specialists and home care consultants, in order to develop a comprehensive approach to managing the person’s disability. CSSs assist consumers in areas such as medication monitoring, advocacy to outside providers and referral sources, as well as teaching daily living skills. Persons served are continually assessed to ensure safety from harm to themselves and others.
